Wireless WISP RouterThe Vikosmo VK-100RTg WISP Router is a 4 port Ethernet router that also operates as an Ethernet bridge and a repeater.  Using 802.11g/b communication standards allows for an integrated network with speeds up to 54Mbps.  With amazingly high signal strengththat is common in all Vikosmo wireless products, you can be sure that you will distribute your network to all of your wireless devices with maximum bandwidth.
If you are looking to setup a wireless network with or without broadband Internet service, this device is for you!

What makes this Broadband Router Special is it's ability to operate as a bridge on all four ports using CLIENT MODE, outlined below.  This allows a group of ethernet enabled devices to use this router to integrate them into your existing wireless lan.  With CLIENT MODE, ALL ethernet enabled devices can be incorporated into your network.

There are 7 operating modes that the VK-100APg is capable of.

  1. AP mode:
Setting this mode in VK-100APg causes it to act as a communication hub for users of wireless devices, allowing them to connect to a wired LAN environment.  The VK-100APg offers heightened wireless security and extendes the physical range of service a wireless user has access to.  Using this mode will integrate your wireless and wired devices to form a cohesive network.
  2. Client mode:
Setting this mode in VK-100APg allows the user device to communicate on the network by first going through an Access Point (AP) or router, and requires access to the wired LAN in order to use services such as file servers or printers.  Commonly used in Game Systems and STBs, this mode will make any Ethernet enabled device wireless, with or without security.
  3. Bridge mode:
Setting this mode in VK-100APg will allow it to communicate directly with another device, without the use of an access point (AP).  It is also referred to as peer-to-peer mode.
  4. WDS Mode:
WDS, or Wireless Distribution System, will enable you to extend the useful range of your network.  If your installation is one where a single Access Point isn't enough to provide a good coverage, setting this mode in several VK-100APg (several Access Points) whill extend your coverage to connect your network equipment.
  5. Universal Repeater Mode:
It is also a good way to extend your network coverage, and doesn't require the remote wireless devices to have the above mentioned WDS function.
  6. WISP Mode:
In this mode, all Ethernet ports are bridged together and the wireless client will connect to ISP access point. The NAT is enabled and PCs or notebooks with Ethernet ports share the same IP to ISP through wireless LAN.  You must set the wireless to client mode first and connect to the ISP AP in Site-Survey page to configure this. The connection type can be setup in the WAN page by using PPPoE, DHCP client, PPTP client or static IP.
  7. Gateway Mode:
In this mode, Broadband Internet will be distributed to all devices through the 4 ports or WLAN. The NAT is enabled and PCs or notebooks on the four LAN ports share the same IP to ISP through the WAN port. This connection type can be setup in the WAN page by using PPPoE, DHCP client, PPTP client or static IP.
